ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dara has over two decades of experience facilitating trust-building conversations, conducting research to inform policy, and leading grassroots campaigns for positive change. Dara's research has been featured in the United Nations, US Congress, UK's Institute for Public Policy Research, Women in Government, and Harvard Education Spotlight Series. She was lead author of another book published by Harvard Education Press focusing on transforming education and has written numerous articles on how to support positive culture change for the World Policy Journal, Huffington Post, and Education Week.

Dara's organizing campaigns for policy change have been touted as outstanding models by White House and State Department leaders, including Human Right's leader Harold Koh who described one of her campaigns as the "best ever seen around a focal point for change". In 2012, she led a global campaign that helped to build trust and develop a common blueprint for positive change across 97 countries. More recently, in response to the mental health crisis spurred on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dara initiated a campaign to bring more effective communication skills to households around the world through 'at-home gamification'.

Dara is currently the CEO of the Center for Transforming Culture, which has been identified as having "world class" trainings on helping managers develop Human-Centered Leadership and culture shifting strategies. Dara has a Master's with honors in Public Policy from the London School of Economics, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College.
